Like “Independence Day 2”, “”Jurassic Park 4” is regarded as one of those sure-things on the net – and has been for quite some time, despite the fact neither film has a script, cast, finance or start date.

But like the former, those involved in the “Jurassic Park” films believe the time is right to re-open Dino-Island to visitors.

Joe Johnston (“The Wolfman”), director of “Jurassic Park 3” (and stop slamming it people; I thought it was quite a good little sequel!) may return to helm the new film – so long as the story doesn’t change in the meantime.

"There is a great story for the fourth one that I would be interested in getting involved with and it's nothing like the first three," Johnston told Aint it Cool, "It sort of takes the franchise off in a completely different direction, which is the only way I would want to get involved.’’

Johnston, who also directed family-fave “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids”, says the new film won’t play out like the first three films – bunch of humans head to the island only to be gobbled by dinosaurs.

"Why would anybody go back to that island?" Johnston said. "It was hard enough to figure out the second and third reason for them to go, but it would take it off in a whole other trilogy basically, but when it gets to that level it's sort of about studios and Steven [Spielberg's] thing and who knows. I think we are at that point where we are due for another one if we are going to do it."

The last bit of solid ‘’Jurassic Park 4’’ news was in 2007, when star Laura Dern told Collider that Steven Spielberg had personally called her to ask her to come back for another one. "I'm told it's happening and I'm told they're calling me," said the actress. "I'm told that Ellie Sattler [Dern's character in the series] is involved in it."
